HELLO, I’M JESSICA.
After more than a dozen years building brands and winning awards in a full-service agency environment, my professional life grew a surprising offshoot: I spent five transformative years at a public garden and literary museum, first as a gardener, and later, as director. As the plants I cared for grew, so did my respect for two powerful truths:
1.
When people connect with nature, healing follows—for ourselves, our communities, and our planet.
2.
Marketing works; promote responsibly. For me, that means doing work that brings people and nature together.
If you feel the same way, you’re in the right place. So let’s talk about you.
DO YOU EVER CATCH YOURSELF THINKING…
You’d rather focus on your core mission instead of writing copy, managing content, and optimizing the communications strategies your brand depends on to remain healthy and strong?
Are you responsible for increasing revenue, but so short on time that you keep pushing off the very tasks that would help, like developing that e-marketing sequence, launching that ad campaign, or writing those grant proposals?
Isn’t it time you had a customized, results-based solution to increase web traffic, generate leads, or improve donor relations?
How would it feel to have the support of a savvy digital content writer with firsthand experience managing a public landscape, just a click away?
If you can relate to any of these scenarios, there’s a good chance I can help.
Feeling hesitant? Read on.
Most likely, you’re here because something is pushing you to make a change. Maybe you’ve outgrown the capacity to maintain your blog or print publication by yourself, and you’re looking for a seasoned content writer who shares your voice and values. But who?
Maybe you searched “copywriting for nature preserve” or “branding for historic landscapes” because the thought of educating a marketing partner who doesn’t live and breathe your niche seems overwhelming.
Maybe you just want a trusted professional willing to check in as needed to help you stay on track with your communications strategy. Or maybe, you just need a little inspiration. I am here to give you that support.
But before we get too far, I need to tell you everything I’m not.
Every one of us is constantly bombarded by advertising messages, and you don’t need me to tell you that not all of them are healthy. It’s noisy out there.
Far too many of those messages encourage unhealthy shopping habits. Others make people needlessly feel bad about themselves. And then, particularly in the eco-conscious space, there’s the ever-present issue of greenwashing.
Fortunately, in this kind of marketing landscape, not contributing to the noise is one of the best ways to get your message heard.
More than ever, people respond to content that feels meaningful, hopeful, and inspiring.
That is where I specialize.
And, as a brand that connects people to nature, that is where you shine.
My Approach
I am here to make your life easier. I follow the same time-tested approach with every project.
1. Discovery Call
It all starts with a discovery call. We’ll discuss your goals, budget, and audience. You’ll get to ask questions, and if you don’t know what to ask, don’t worry. I’ll draw out the information we need to make this session count.
2. Proposal Review
After the discovery call, if we both agree it’s a fit, you’ll receive a formal proposal outlining the scope of work, estimate, and timeline for your approval.
3. Work Begins (And Ends On Time)
Once you approve the proposal, I get to work. You can expect predefined opportunities to review and request changes before the work is complete. Based on the nature of the job, you could engage me for a one-off assignment that lasts a few weeks, a multi-part project completed over a period of months, or an ongoing retainer-based relationship where I become an extension of your team.
